What it analyses

The Aromatogram test analyzes the sensitivity of a microorganism to 15 essential oils, i.e. the ability of these substances of natural origin to inhibit the growth of a microorganism responsible for an infection.

The aromatogram test is aimed at anyone who wants to receive antimicrobial therapy based on essential oils for a mucocutaneous infectious disease.
The test is performed on a mucosal (swab) or skin (exudate or scraping) sample.
With the aromatogram test, the doctor will be able to find valid laboratory support, sensitive, specific and reproducible, on which to base the therapy based on essential oils which has so far been mainly structured on literature data and traditional uses. Occasionally the test result may be inconclusive, for example, if the amount of fetal DNA is insufficient to complete the study within established performance parameters.

The sample is analyzed at the Microbiology Laboratories of Policlinico Universitario A.Gemelli IRCCS in Rome.
