XCOVIDGem is a quantitative serological test aimed at the detection of IgM and IgG antibodies directed against the SARS - CoV -2 virus, responsible for COVID-19 disease.

XCOVIDGem is performed through a home venous blood sample. The serum obtained is subjected to the chemiluminescent immunological test (CLIA) at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS, through the use of advanced instruments of the Policlinico Gemelli Microbiology laboratory.

The test can highlight, in case of positivity, the successful immune response following contact with the virus. XCOVIDGem is a valid screening and monitoring tool on the presence and spread of the virus in companies, organizations and families.

Yes. Venous blood sampling is performed at company offices throughout Italy, in total safety, by highly qualified healthcare personnel. An online employee reporting service is available.

Any positivity to the serological test requires you to promptly inform your doctor, providing that the person undergoes nasopharyngeal swab in order to exclude or confirm the presence of an ongoing infection.

In any case, it is mandatory to refer to the provisions of the directives of the region to which the positive person belongs.

The test price is € 45 + the cost of home blood sampling.

The technology used for carrying out the test is CE-IVD certified.

It should also be noted that the serological tests for the detection of antibodies directed against SARS-CoV-2 do not in any way replace the molecular test performed with real-time PCR for the research of the viral genome on nasopharyngeal swab which, as confirmed by WHO, it is the only internationally accepted standard diagnostic approach to date.
