XBIOGem president is Giovanni Scambia, Full Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Director of the School of Specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics and UOC Director of Oncological Gynecology at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome.
He is currently Scientific Director, President of the Executive Committee and internal Member of the Ethics Committee of the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS.
From 2016 to 2019 he was President of the Italian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SIGO).
He is a member of the MITO Board of Directors (Multicenter Italian Trials in Ovarian cancer) and a member of the Steering Committee "Center for Research and Leadership Studies in Medicine" Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
Since 2019 he is President Elect E.S.G.E. (European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy), Vice President I Section of the Superior Council of Health at the Ministry of Health.
He is the author of over 1100 international and national publications and is a permanent member of numerous international and national scientific societies such as the Italian Society of Oncological Gynecology, the International Gynecological Cancer Society, the European Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM ).
He is the author of numerous patents of diagnostic and therapeutic aids, in particular in the oncology field.
For numerous merits, on 2 June 2017, on the proposal of the Prime Minister, he was awarded the position of Knight Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
