Giovanni Scambia
Full Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Director of the School of Specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics and UOC Director of Oncological Gynecology at Università del Sacro Cuore di Roma.
He is currently Scientific Director, President of the Executive Committee and Internal Member of the Ethics Committee of Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS.
From 2016 to 2019 he was President of the Società Italiana di Ginecologia e Ostetricia (SIGO). He is a member of the Steering Committee of MITO (Multicenter Italian Trials in Ovarian cancer) and a member of the steering committee of the "Centre for Research and Studies of Leadership in Medicine" at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Roma. Since 2019 he has been President Elect E.S.G.E. (European Society for Gynecological Endoscopy), Vice President Section I of the Superior Council of Health at the Ministry of Health. He is the author of over 1100 international and national publications and is a permanent member of numerous international and national scientific societies such as the Italian Society of Gynecological Oncology, the International Gynecological Cancer Society, the European Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM ). He is the author of numerous patents for diagnostic and therapeutic devices, particularly in the oncological field. For his numerous merits, on 2 June 2017, on the proposal of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, he was awarded the position of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
